As I was transcribing the June 25 journal entry - ŌThe Fractal Nature of Art: Personal & AmbiguousÕ – to the computer, as is my wont, I was impelled by you know who to insert a reflection upon this reflection.
It is over a month since that entry and I have made yet another discovery of a similar ilk – number 3 this year. The first was inspired by my major reorganization of the Southeast Asia trilogy, which has had a substantial number of hits (# of pages and time spent) on my Website from all over the world – primarily the countries of SEA. Then came Butter, the novel referred to in the essay. I was only manually transferring the pages of the 300+ page work from an expanding file to a notebook when the insights concerning the real nature of the work occurred. Since then I have chapterized my Science onto my website. As I organized the work I realized for the first time the real nature of my production of equations, diagrams, and the like. I had written 3 complete books – over 200 pages each. Prior to that my Science had been organized into approximately 20 Notebooks roughly organized by time of composition. In the chapterization I discovered that this outpouring was actually quite specific – in terms of theme and intent, albeit subconscious. The first, The Dynamics of Human Behavior, included 6 notebooks, which were not written consecutively at all – but over a period of decades. Yet they all surrounded the insights applied to human behavior that were derived from Data Stream Derivatives. The second, Directionals: Content vs. Context and Beauty, was a mathematical study of these derivatives, which focused around the issue of content vs. context and finished with beauty. This included 5 Notebooks, which were written consecutively during the same time period – and in fact probably interrupted the first book. The third, Root Beings and their Extended Family or Iterative Equations based upon the Infinite Continued Fraction, a Mathematical Modeling of the Quest for Mastery, was based upon 4 Notebooks, which were created in quantized chunks over a duration greater than a decade. The first ended with square roots. Years later a divine coincidence led to a brief acquaintance with Jimmy, a prominent physicist from the East, who ratified my science, which directly led to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Notebooks of the series. While the second Notebook extended the analysis to include the general root as well as transcendentals, the third Notebook accidentally discovered a unique class of equations that mimic the quest for mastery. Anyway it was only decades later that I realized what I had done. The Muse had thrown me down upon the ground – no frown. So intense that I didnÕt quite know what had happened to me or what I had done. It took me decades to truly digest the nature of my discoveries. I certainly didnÕt know what I had written at the start of this year.
Late breaking news flash: I also finished up the Rodgers Family History this year. Although I knew what it was about I added maps and a chronology as well as having it printed – even sold a few. At the beginning of this year 2008 these four projects were incomplete - not well organized and misunderstood by the Author himself. And now a turbulent, but productive, 6 months later a corner has been turned in understanding, organization, and distribution that was incomprehensible to my Person just a few seasons before. The Breakdown gave me the insert of time which acted as a booster rocket to my creations – giving them the velocity they needed to break away from gravityÕs onerous pull and achieve a steady orbit about the Earth. So once again – Gratitude to God & Bless the Breakdown for allowing me to move slowly enough to sink through the cracks.
