This is a very exciting year in terms of the Outer Planets. The three largest planets enter a constructive yearlong dance. Heading forward in Capricorn expansive Jupiter forms an earth trine with structured Saturn on January 21st. Continuing forth he then sextiles radical Uranus in Pisces on March 28th. Jupiter slows down and heads backward through the Zodiac on May 9th. Still moving forward Uranus catches him to form their second earth/water sextile on May 21st. In the meantime Saturn turns forward on May 2nd. With Saturn moving forward and Jupiter backwards they enter their second earth trine on September 8, which is about the same time that Jupiter stops to turn forward again. Uranus is traveling backwards, having turned around on June 26th. Both Jupiter and Saturn move forward to their date with destiny. Saturn catches Uranus first, moving into opposition on November 4th. Jupiter then forms his third and final sextile with Uranus on November 12th and his third and final trine with Saturn on November 21st.
You’re probably wondering what this all means. Saturn represents permanence and Uranus represents change. In opposition they indicate that some permanent changes are going to take place, but that they will be difficult. It will be necessary to purge yourself of the comfort and security of long-term patterns to make the move. Jupiter, which represents expansion and growth, is providing the opportunity for these permanent changes. It is necessary to face the challenges and move rather than sitting back and waiting. If you wait you will be wrenched out of your comfort zone. Better to be proactive about changes when the opportunities present themselves rather than being told to leave when you are unprepared. Move on your own accord into new land or be forced to move after the time is ripe.
We are assisted in this momentous year by the conjunction of Neptune and the Moon’s Nodes, a.k.a. the Dragon’s Head, which occurs on May 4. With the Spirit and Society in union it is a time of spiritual awakening and transformation. Be aligned with these momentous changes or be left behind, or worse yet crushed in the coming stampede.
Also Pluto, which represents the Public, is moving to and for about the point of the Winter Solstice adding another suggestion of Death and Rebirth. Catch the Wave or it will crash on you.
